psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is an independent healing method in the health sector for the treatment of mental, psychosocial or psychosomatically caused behavioral disorders and states of suffering.

What is psychotherapy?

The specific goal of psychotherapy is not predetermined but is discussed between the therapist and patient at the beginning of treatment. There is no fixed structure to the course of psychotherapy; how it unfolds depends on the individual personality and the interaction between the therapist and patient. The therapist accompanies the patient in developing and finding appropriate solutions and ways to change. The conversation and exchange between therapist and patient are central to the process.

Psychotherapeutic work focuses on getting to know oneself better and finding ways to deal with challenges in a coherent and practical manner. Symptoms or crises are not viewed in isolation, but understood in the context of the individual's life history and current life situation.

The goal is to strengthen one's own capacity for action, to find orientation, and to achieve a more fulfilling, freer life. Psychotherapy can help to reconnect with what is essential in life – and to develop new confidence, vitality, and inner peace.
